Trip to Daejon

Last Tuesday was Childrens day, Monday was also a public holiday so in total I had 4 days off work. The plan was to go to Daejonon Saturday, however Kiyeons mother and brother came to Seoul from Daegu so we delayed leaving till Sunday.

It turned out that leaving a day later was the best thing we could have done. The weather on Sat awas raining and then it was beautiful for the rest of the weekend.

Daejeon is a 2 hour train ride from Seoul which is pretty easy since Korean trains are great.

At Daejeon we got a room near the station for $30 a night and headed off to the zoo.

The trip didnt start too well, the bus trip that looked so short on the map turned out to be over an hour long and the traffic was so bad that the driver kicked us out of the bus and made us walk the last 1.5 km (which wasnt really fun with Ella).

The zoo was quite good and Ella had a really good time.

They also had a flower exhibition but we didnt have much of a chance to look at that.

The next day we took a 1 hour bus drive to Dae Dun San (Dae Dun Mountain). The area is really beautiful. We found a nice room for $30 a night and did the walk up to the top in about 4 hours return.

Todays timetable

4-4
4-5
5-4
3-5

Lesson 4 was really good, the teacher really tried to only speak in english and the class were well controlled.

Lesson 5-4 was a problem because my power point presentation didnt work and the cam to screen machine didnt work either. Luckily I had a few photos that I managed to base the lesson on. I was very happy that I managed to survive this lesson with almost no materials.

Also negotions start today to allow Kiyeon to work in the afterschool program.
